Vowels is a made-in-Japan alternative luxury brand founded by Creative Director Yuki Yagi. Rooted in the philosophy of Shu Ha Ri, the brand explores the tension between mastering tradition and redefining contemporary form through elevated everyday essentials.Working as part of the brand development team at Combo, I led the design and production of the packaging system and key brand touchpoints.
My role focused on translating Vowels’ philosophy into a tactile brand experience — from structural packaging design to printed materials and retail-ready components.I developed custom box formats, shopping bags, garment tags, stationery, and pattern applications, collaborating directly with vendors to specify materials, finishes, and production methods. The result was a cohesive packaging ecosystem that reinforced the brand’s commitment to craft, precision, and longevity.
